Max Hewett
Founding Partner
Max provides advice at board and executive level on reputation and issues management, stakeholder engagement and financial communication. He is an adviser to a range of ASX-listed and private companies that operate in complex regulatory environments.
Over his career he has advised on local and cross border transactions and has a deep speciality in responding to shareholder activism campaigns. Prior to founding Patterson Advisory, he held senior roles at several of Australia’s leading communications agencies.
Max holds a Bachelor of Public Communication from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Nick Albrow
Partner
Nick has more than a decade of experience successfully leading strategic communications campaigns, managing complex issues and crises, and enhancing the reputations of organisations – from high-growth start-ups to listed multinationals. He is a trusted adviser to companies going through complex financial transactions and facing regulatory, media and political scrutiny.
This has included managing responses to regulatory investigations, parliamentary inquiries and Royal Commissions.
Prior to joining Patterson Advisory, Nick was a director of a crisis PR firm in Sydney after spending five years with PR and public affairs firm PLMR in London.

Nicole Ballantyne
Consultant
Nicole has five years’ experience working in communications agencies in both Sydney and London.
Her experience has included working on strategy development and execution for a portfolio of clients across areas such as brand and reputation management, media relations, crisis management and executive profiling. At her previous agency in London, her clients included Marks & Spencer, Ocado Group, Coca-Cola Europe and Hilton Hotels, advising in both a corporate and consumer communications capacity.
Nicole has a Bachelor’s Degree in Media (Public Relations) and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Commerce, both from the University of New South Wales.

Mark Rudder
Senior Counsel
Mark offers more than 30 years’ experience in media, corporate and financial communications, media presentation and crisis management programs to both local and offshore clients. He has significant expertise in advising clients on senior management team restructures as well as reputation and issues management.
This has seen him work with a range of key clients including Virgin Australia, Myer Holdings, DPWorld, Bubs Australia, Commonwealth Bank, National Australia Bank, Westpac, Macquarie Bank, Lend Lease Corporation, Consolidated Press Holdings, Publishing & Broadcasting, Santos and Suncorp. He has also advised on Federal and State Government asset sales and major policy initiatives.

Tahlia West
Junior Consultant
Tahlia is a junior consultant at Patterson Advisory, where she has developed hands‑on experience supporting a range of client engagements. Her work includes undertaking targeted research, conducting media monitoring and analysis, and providing day‑to‑day client support across multiple projects.
Since joining Patterson, Tahlia has contributed to briefing preparation, issues tracking, and the development of communications materials, bringing a strong attention to detail and an emerging understanding of strategic reputation management.
Tahlia is currently finalising her studies at the University of Technology Sydney, where she is completing a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Communications (Strategic Communications).
